“Writing without revising is the (...) equivalent of waltzing gaily out of the house in your underwear.” (Patricia Fuller)
We believe that it is really important for translated texts to be checked over by a second pair of eyes (SPEC), which is why we offer this service on our in-house translations.

We can also proof read externally translated documents to check for accuracy, consistency and fluency and to ensure that nothing has been left out. We recommend that any texts for publication are proof read thoroughly and this step should only be omitted if documents are extremely short or strictly for internal use.

We charge either by source word or per hour. The advantage of paying for each source word is that you know what the fee will be before we start. The disadvantage is that if your source document is in a non-editable format it can be time consuming to get an accurate word count. You may also find that if the translation is of good quality it could work out cheaper to pay per hour. We are always happy to discuss both options with our clients to work out which is best on in each individual case.
