“When you write a book, you spend day after day scanning and identifying the trees. When you’re done, you have to step back and look at the forest.” (Stephen King)
We offer proof reading by a second partner who is also proficient in the source language (and, of course, a native English speaker) before delivery. |
When you're translating a document, it's easy (and essential!) to get bogged down in the details of terminology, grammar, and context. Once you have teased out the meaning of the source text, you can take a step back and form it into a text that reads well in the target language. Then you need to check that spelling, punctuation, numbers and formatting are all correct.
At this point, it is extremely helpful for a second person to review the translation. With all those things to take into consideration, it's easy for small details to be overlooked, especially if the text is long and you have been looking at the same words for several hours or even days. A fresh pair of eyes can quickly pick up errors and oversights, suggest a better way of wording a phrase or offer a second opinion on terminology choices. This is why we strongly recommend our SPEC service, which at just 1p per word offers fantastic value for money . |
